The deep bowl has rounded sides rising to an everted mouth rim; the latter decorated with a band of ruyi clouds to the top and underside, the vessel supported by a short, circular gilt bronze foot rim beneath a band of stylised lotus leaves. The main decorated on the exterior is repeated on the interior, with a repeated interlocking pattern of a multi coloured lotus flower and lotus bud, surrounded by leaves and scrolling tendrils, reserved on a turquoise ground.
