The clear rock crystal bowl is supported on a circular splayed foot, carved to a depth of 1.5 cm with three reeling chi-hu dragons. The foot is engraved with a key fret design added at the time of the mounting - the latter decorated with eighteen crystal stones, set within lotus petal mounts. The crystal bowl is surmounted by a gilt copper dome embellished with a row of nineteen tear drop crystal stones set against red foil, below eight larger crystal stones set within lotus shaped mounts between eight small circular stones; the gilt copper spout is formed as the head of Makara. The flaring rock crystal neck is carved with fluted lotus leaves - contemporary with the mounting.
