A sheet gold repoussé figure of Buddha with a bitumen core, seated on a lotus base

The Buddha is seated cross-legged on a three-tiered pedestal, his right hand in the earth touching position Bhumisparsa mudra, the left hand resting in his lap. His long vestments cover his body but leave his right arm and shoulder exposed. The Buddhas face bears a serene smile, the Thai style elongated ears are characteristically pointed at the tops, and a flame rises from the ushnisha.
